Living and Dining Pavilion
Accessed by an external cantilevered staircase from the pond level is the gargantuan Living-Dining pavilion. It is only on reaching this lower level that the unique architectural design of the villa can be appreciated. It stands three stories high beneath a vaulted, intricately designed thatched roof supported by coconut wood pillars on stone plinths.
Furnished with comfortable teak chairs and sofas, pendulous lanterns illuminate a large mahogany dining table. It is also a fantastic venue for parties, receptions and functions as well as quiet, peaceful living. The adjoining semi-circular timber deck overhangs the lush river valley; living jackfruit trees grow through holes cut in the deck floor, a stylish sensitive way to preserve the original forest plantings, an architectural tour de force blending style with nature.
Villa Sati
Villa Sati takes its name from the Buddhist word for ‘mindfulness’. It is a magnificent hideaway. Its two thatched roof pavilions dramatically merge classical Balinese alang-alang (thatch) construction with soaring contemporary expanses of glass. The room is furnished with a canopied queen-size bed, fitted wardrobe with personal safe deposit box, and a cozy corner setting of cushioned rattan chairs and teak table for lounging or an intimate breakfast. The attractive décor features a deep purple wall which sets off the collection of shimmering golden paintings by a talented local artist.
The adjoining open-air garden bathroom is centered around an oversized terrazzo Jacuzzi bathtub, shaded by a pergola covered by a flowering vine. The dark grey granite floor is the background for the floating teak vanity with its sculpted river stone washbasin. Colorful artwork and flowering orchids complete the picture.
